Quinte Symphony: Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin

The Quinte Symphony is calling for applicants for the position of Concertmaster for the 2017-18 season. The Concertmaster will work together with the Music Director, professional principal string players, and a combination of dedicated volunteer musicians to put on 4 to 6 high quality concerts a year in the Belleville area.

The ideal candidate will have a high-level of artistic leadership and facility on their instrument to support the preparation, rehearsal and performance of each concert. The concertmaster will be an artistic leader in the organization by working collaboratively with the other string principals and the Music Director, inspiring musicians to reach new heights. Having a teaching studio and help with recruiting new volunteer violinists of different ages would be considered an asset.

This paid position, competitive with orchestras in our budget category, is based on qualifications, experience and the orchestra’s budget. The normal fee is $1,000 per concert/program. The position is for one-year as a trial period, includes evaluation and is renewable. The Quinte Symphony season is a minimum of 33 services per year from September through May, with the possibility for additional services as new projects arise. Regular attendance at Sunday evening rehearsals is essential. Interested musicians are invited to submit a cover letter and a curriculum vitae.
